Neo Valerian microgranules 45 capsules

Valerian is a perennial plant of the Valerianaceae family, also called “all-heal”. It owes its name to the Latin word “valere” which means “to be strong, healthy”. It also has a particular unpleasant odor, which is an indication of its natural purity.

The active part of this plant is the root, which contains essential oils (monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes and, physiologically more important, sesquiterpene acids, among which are valerenic acid). It also contains other substances, like GABA, glutamine, arginine and some alkaloids.

Properties

Traditionally, valerian has been used as a:

Sedative and sleep-inducing plant.

Spasmolytic and muscle relaxing: thanks to its Valerenic acid.

Sedative effect, related to the inhibition of GABA catabolism.

Main indications

Stress, anxiety and irritability.

Moderate insomnia of nervous origin.

Gastrointestinal spasms of nervous origin.

Directions

1 or 2 capsules daily, with a glass of water.

Warnings

It is advised not to give it to children under 3 years.

It can reduce the surveillance state after one or two hours of intake, therefore it is not recommended to drive either immediately or for prolonged periods of time after its consumption.

It is recommended not to take valerian just before going to bed because it can produce restless sleep.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: effects have not been described.
