Description
The only work of the worker bees of 5 to 15 days-old "sucklers" is feeding the larvae and queen of the hive.
They do it with royal jelly, a thick, viscous ivory colored liquid that their hypopharyngeal glands produce.
The worker bees and drones receive royal jelly from egg hatching until their third day of life, the queen bee is fed only with royal jelly throughout her life.
The difference in their feeding is reflected in their longevity and fertility.
They are born from identical eggs. The queen is born on the fifteenth day, workers on the twenty-first.
The queen is fertile and during a life that can last up to five years, lays more than one million eggs, about 2,000 a day.
On the other hand, the worker bees live 50 days under normal conditions and are sterile.
Suckler bees leave royal jelly deposited in the cells, especially in the queen cells, where one obtains the highest quality Royal Jelly, Royal Jelly that Mielar offers you; better and fresher.
Taking advantage of the peculiarity of bees that raise several queen bees at the same time, one can obtain large amounts of Royal Jell
